PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held his first bilateral meeting last night with Russian president Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India.
The two leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and Putin agreed to Anwar's suggestion for the establishment of a special mechanism between Putrajaya and Moscow to expedite the execution of all agreements reached between the two nations in recent years, Bernama reported.
The agreements include the import of Malaysian palm oil by Moscow and direct flights between both countries.
