SERDANG: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has ordered the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate and review the supply of fertiliser to padi farmers following complaints about delays.
Anwar said the cause of the delays must be identified, including by scrutinising the companies entrusted with managing the supply.
He said he had received complaints and objections from padi farmers over the issue.
“They raised the issue and were angry about it. There were also memoranda and objections submitted to me.
“So we need to find out what caused it. Which companies were responsible? Did they fulfil their promises (to the padi farmers)?” he said at the closing ceremony of the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 here today.
