Anti-trafficking day to be observed today

The VISWAS society is organizing an event to observe the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30, 2026. The program aims to raise awareness about human trafficking under this year's theme, 'Trapped behind the scam'.
Why it matters
Human trafficking remains a critical global human rights issue requiring sustained public awareness and intervention.
The Victims Information, Sensitisation, Welfare and Assistance Society (VISWAS), a voluntary organisation working for the welfare of victims of crimes and excesses, will observe the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons here on Thursday (July 30, 2026).
District Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Firoz M. Shefik will inaugurate the programme at Bharathamatha CMI Public School. Viswas secretary general and former deputy director of prosecutions P. Premnath will deliver the keynote address.
