Delhi Traffic Police have issued advisories and implemented diversions due to an INDIA bloc march toward the Supreme Court. The protest concerns the Chief Election Commissioner and the SIR exercise, occurring despite the Chief Justice of India declining a meeting with opposition leaders.
Why it matters
The protest highlights ongoing political tensions in India regarding election oversight and the relationship between the judiciary and the opposition.
Delhi Traffic Police has enforced traffic diversions and issued advisories for the national capital on October 12, 2026.
This comes as Opposition parties and members of the INDIA bloc hold a march to the Supreme Court against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the SIR exercise. However, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has declined to meet with the Opposition leaders ‘with reasons.’
