The 86th annual day of the Samskrita Sahitya Parishad, Tiruchi, and the World Sanskrit Day celebration was held at the Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Vidyalaya here recently.
Gokula Krishnan an Ayurvedic physician-cum-Sanskrit scholar gave a lecture on the works of Sri Appaiya Dikshitar on Sahitya, Vyakarna, Alankara, Mimamsa and devotional poetry.
A newsletter of the parishad was released by S. Usha, Head, Department of Sanskrit, Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchi. She spoke on the importance of Sanskrit and its usage and gave away prizes to the winners in recitation, drama, music, essay and oratorical competitions.
