The Governing Council of the East African Development Bank (EADB) has appointed Ms Anne Juuko as its new Director General with effect from October 2, 2026, ushering in a fresh chapter for the regional development finance institution.
The Council, chaired by Rwanda’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Yusuf Murangwa, announced the appointment in Kampala and simultaneously adopted a suite of key reforms designed to strengthen governance and support the institution's future trajectory.
Ms Juuko, an accomplished regional banker and financial markets executive, brings over two decades of experience across East and Southern Africa in commercial banking, capital markets, and executive leadership. She transitions to EADB from the Standard Bank Group, where she served as Regional Head of Global Markets for Eastern Africa.
