Annamayya district approves ₹2 crore for 90 drinking water projects

The Annamayya district administration cleared 90 projects estimated at ₹2 crore to address the drinking water shortage issue, including new borewells, pumps, and pipelines, Minister of Transport, Sports, and Youth Services Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy told the media in Madanapalle on Monday (September 7, 2026).
The Minister said that the works would be taken up across six mandals, Chinnamandem, Galiveedu, Lakkireddipalli, Ramapuram, Rayachoti, and Sambepalli, due to the declining groundwater levels in several rural areas.
Galiveedu has been allocated 20 works costing ₹44 lakh, Lakkireddipalli has 21 works estimated at ₹44.60 lakh, Ramapuram has 19 works costing ₹47.30 lakh, Sambepalli has 17 works at ₹36.30 lakh, Chinnamandem has six works at ₹11.60 lakh, and Rayachoti has seven works at ₹16.10 lakh.
