Social activist Anna Hazare, admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after suffering a renal infection, is recovering and will remain under care for two more days, his close aide said on Thursday (September 3, 2026).

The 89-year-old activist was admitted to Bombay Hospital in south Mumbai on Monday (August 31) night after his blood reports indicated a renal infection.

“Hazare was brought to Mumbai for renal infection treatment. He is recovering but not fully recovered. Doctors told us that he will have to stay at the hospital for two more days,” the aide said.

His health is improving, and doctors have advised him to take more rest while undergoing treatment at the hospital, he said.
