Ann Musangi's Haco Industries to make Amara lotion in Ghana

Haco Industries Kenya, led by Mary-Ann Musangi, has partnered with a Ghanaian firm to manufacture Amara lotion in Ghana. This move is part of a broader strategy to expand into West African markets while keeping capital expenditure low.
Why it matters
The expansion demonstrates a growing trend of intra-African trade partnerships aimed at strengthening regional supply chains.
Haco Industries Kenya, the consumer goods maker run by Mary-Ann Musangi, the daughter of the late Kenyan billionaire Chris Kirubi, has signed an agreement with a Ghanaian company to manufacture and distribute its Amara skincare lotion in Ghana.
The partner, Ayewa Aberfur, will contribute its product development and manufacturing capabilities and its knowledge of the Ghanaian market, Citizen Digital reported. The company said the Ghana operation is part of a wider West African strategy to produce closer to consumers and strengthen regional supply chains.
"Our partnership with Ayewa Aberfur brings together technical expertise and local knowledge to establish a strong foundation for manufacturing Amara in Ghana, while creating opportunities to strengthen the African value chains that support our brands," Musangi said.
