Andy Burnham to give speech on social care
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced plans to reform England's social care system, including the creation of a National Care Service. The government is initiating cross-party talks and has committed to a fair pay agreement for care staff by 2028/29.

In a speech this morning, Andy Burnham said he has asked Baroness Louise Casey to focus on how the government could set up a National Care Service , and to bring forward her review of adult social care in England by a year, to 2027.
Burnham announced the start of cross-party talks about the issue, and said the government has agreed a fair pay agreement for social care staff to be introduced in the 2028/29 financial year.
