Andhra Pradesh’s AI-powered GST model wins national acclaim, says official

Andhra Pradesh’s Artificial Intelligence-led GST administration model drew nationwide appreciation at the 6th National Co-ordination Meeting organised at Vigyan Bhawan on Friday, said Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu A in a press release on Friday.
Mr. Babu claimed that the State had developed an AI and Machine Learning-based system covering the entire tax administration process, from case selection and return scrutiny to audit, inspection and litigation. The system integrates multiple data sources, automated analytical reports and a risk matrix to identify cases requiring scrutiny.
The department’s Legal-AI Officer Assistant, trained on GST laws and around 22,000 judicial judgments, was being used to assist officers in handling litigation across various fora. Over 13,700 cases had been brought under the AI-assisted system, he said.
