Andhra Pradesh gets national recognition for attracting investments in green energy sector

In a major national recognition of its leadership in attracting investments in the eco-friendly green energy sector, Andhra Pradesh was conferred the prestigious Leadership State in Renewable Energy Investment Mobilisation Award at the 8th International Trade Fair & Conference, ‘Windergy India 2026’, held in Chennai on Thursday.
New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of AP (NREDCAP) Vice-Chairman & Managing Director M. Kamalakar Babu received the award from Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi.
The award was for sanctioning 97 mega clean energy projects involving a total investment of ₹4 lakh crore, with an employment generation potential of 4.71 lakh jobs, since June 2024, an official release said.
It was stated that the projects comprised 26.45 GW of solar and 5.86 GW of wind capacities, supplemented by 19.95 GW of pumped storage hydro projects.
