Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Anbumani Ramadoss on Friday (August 7, 2026) criticised the Tamil Nadu government’s decision to implement several infrastructure projects through public-private partnerships (PPP), alleging that increased privatisation of public services would undermine employment opportunities and social justice.
Referring to the State Budget presented on August 5 , Dr. Anbumani said projects such as operating electric buses through private firms, setting up integrated student hostels, constructing a ₹4,000-crore power transmission corridor between Coimbatore and Ariyalur, establishing 20,000 EV charging stations, and building one lakh houses in Chennai through private participation would reduce government recruitment.
