Anantapur IRCS bags five Governor’s medals
The Anantapur branch of the Indian Red Cross Society received five Governor’s medals for outstanding service and corporate social responsibility contributions. Several local officials and private organizations were recognized for their humanitarian efforts.

The Anantapur district branch of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) received five Governor’s medals. Two medals were awarded in the membership category, while three were awarded in the ‘Social Service/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ category to organisations that provided significant support to the Red Cross.
The annual general meeting of the IRCS, Andhra Pradesh State branch for the year 2024-25 was held on Tuesday at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. The prestigious Governor’s medals were presented by Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer to districts, individuals, and organisations that demonstrated outstanding performance in Red Cross service activities.
In the membership category, V. Vinod Kumar, who served as the District Collector of Anantapur and president of the IRCS Anantapur district branch during 2024-25, and Vaka Srinivasula Reddy, former RDO of Guntakal, were selected for the Governor’s medals. They received the medals from the Governor.
