Anakapalli SP warns of stringent action against illegal fireworks units

The district police have intensified surveillance on unauthorised fireworks manufacturing, storage and sale ahead of the festive season, with Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha directing Station House Officers (SHOs) to conduct surprise inspections and initiate stringent action against violations.
The SP stated in a release on Sunday special surveillance had been put in place across the district in view of accidents reported in the past involving fireworks. He directed police officials to identify unauthorised manufacturing and storage facilities and ensure that licensed units strictly adhere to prescribed safety norms.
The SHOs have been instructed to inspect fireworks manufacturing units in their limits and verify the availability of fire-prevention equipment, water, sand and other mandatory safety arrangements. They have also been asked to conduct field-level enquiries to ensure that no unauthorised units are operating in their areas.
