BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered prayers at the Arunachaleswar Temple and Sri Ramana Ashram in Tiruvannamalai town on Saturday.
Mr. Shah was welcomed by Tiruvannamalai Collector Vandana Garg and Superintendent of Police R. Uthayakumar at the Government Arts and Science College in the town, where Mr. Shah arrived by helicopter. The convoy proceeded towards the temple along the Girivalam path. Officials said devotees were not allowed to enter the temple during Mr. Shah’s visit and elaborate arrangements had been made. After offering prayers, Mr. Shah waved at the devotees who had gathered at the entrance of the temple.
