NEW DELHI: The finance ministry has approved the creation of 269 additional posts for the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), but recruitment is still under way, prompting a parliamentary committee to ask the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) to expedite hiring amid rising cyber security threats.The panel's report further revealed that IndiaAI Mission's fellowship programme has struggled to attract applicants in its initial phase, with the ministry attributing the shortfall to limited awareness. MeitY said it has since launched outreach sessions with colleges and awareness campaigns during AI Impact Summit 2026 events to improve participation.
