The explosive testimony of Caleb Flynn's former mistress may have handed Ohio prosecutors a critical piece of their murder case against the former "American Idol" contestant — a potential answer to why he would allegedly kill his wife, a former prosecutor told Fox News Digital. "Motive. She provides a motive," Josh Ritter, a former prosecutor, criminal defense attorney and Fox News contributor, said of Alleigha Botner's testimony. "She gives jurors a reason for why would this man murder his wife. "She seems like she was, by all accounts, a very nice woman," Ritter said about Ashley Flynn. "She's the mother of his children. Yes, he wanted out of the marriage. "Perhaps there was some financial gain in the idea of life insurance, but, you know, jurors oftentimes struggle with that question."
