America just got its 'most-expensive' Zip Code, & it beats Miami's 'Billionaire Bunkers'
Atherton, California, has reclaimed its title as the most expensive ZIP code in the U.S., driven by a surge in wealth from the artificial intelligence boom. High-end real estate demand in the area is currently mirroring the intensity of the dot-com era.

A six-bedroom, nine-bath mansion featuring a theater, a private rose garden, and a spa hit the market earlier this year in Atherton for nearly $32 million. It found a buyer within 72 hours, selling for more than half a million dollars above the asking price. According to a report by Bloomberg, that lightning-fast deal is a testament to the fresh wave of tech riches washing over the San Francisco Bay Area, driven by a booming artificial intelligence industry and blockbuster IPOs. Nowhere is that wealth more pronounced than in Atherton, a longtime billionaires hub that is now experiencing resurgent real estate demand.The town of roughly 7,000 residents has already recorded five property sales of at least $30 million this year, nearing the record six set in all of 2025, according to Compass broker associate Tom LeMieux.
