The High Court hearing of the election petition challenging the victory of Mawokota County North Member of Parliament, Ms. Amelia Anne Kyambadde, resumed on Tuesday, with the petitioner, Mr. Hillary Innocent Kiyaga, also known as Dr Hilderman, taking the witness stand for cross-examination.
Mr. Kiyaga, who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag, is challenging the election of Ms. Kyambadde, the candidate for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM). Ms. Kyambadde and the Electoral Commission (EC) are listed as the first and second respondents, respectively. Appearing before presiding High Court Judge Jamson Karemani Karemera, Mr. Kiyaga was subjected to intense questioning by Ms. Kyambadde’s lead counsel, Mr. Anthony Bazira, regarding the core allegations outlined in his petition.
