AMECEA PLENARY: AMECEA Delegates Receive Update on Cardinal Otunga’s Cause for Sainthood

Delegates to the 21st Plenary of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA), held in Kenya, received an update on the progress of the cause for the beatification and canonization of the Servant of God Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga.
Speaking during the closing Mass of the Plenary, Fr. Lawrence Njoroge, Vice Postulator for Cardinal Otunga’s cause, shared the late prelate’s life story and highlighted ongoing efforts to advance the process towards sainthood.
Fr. Njoroge reported that increasing numbers of people from Kenya and beyond are visiting Cardinal Otunga’s resting place at the Resurrection Garden to pray and seek his intercession.
He said there have also been continued reports of graces received through the intercession of the Servant of God.
“The cause continues to receive growing interest, with many people visiting his resting place and reporting graces through his intercession,” Fr. Njoroge said.
