During the fourth day of the 21st Plenary Assembly of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA), at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi, Kenya, panelists acknowledged the difficult economic realities facing millions of young Africans, and stressed that the future lies not in waiting for jobs to be created but in equipping young people to become entrepreneurs, innovators and creators of employment.
Technology entrepreneur Mr. Ken Njoroge challenged participants to rethink conventional approaches to employment, arguing that Africa’s growing youth population should be viewed as an opportunity rather than a burden.
