AMCA bid deadline extended by two months to October 30
The deadline for submitting bids for India's indigenous fifth-generation fighter jet, the AMCA, has been extended to October 30, 2026. The extension was granted to allow prospective bidders more time to prepare their proposals.

The deadline for Indian defence majors to submit bids for the development of the indigenous fifth-generation fighter jet, Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), has been extended by two months to October 30, 2026, from the earlier deadline of August 27, defence officials said.
A document accessed by The Hindu shows that the bids for the mega fighter aircraft project will now be opened on October 31, a day after the revised submission deadline. The earlier schedule envisaged opening the bids on August 28.
The Aeronautical Development Agency issued a corrigendum on Thursday (August 27, 2026) extending the deadline after prospective bidders sought additional time to prepare and submit their proposals.
The bidders include the Larsen & Toubro-Bharat Electronics Limited combine, Tata Advanced Systems, and Bharat Forge in partnership with BEML.
