Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) announced on Sunday that 9,911 athletes will vie for the top spots in 12 different sports disciplines of the State-level Amaravati Championship 2026, slated for Monday-Thursday at Tarakarama Stadium in Tirupati. The athletes taking part in the State-level event have been selected after dishing out top performances in the District-level sports competitions.
Along with District Joint Collector Govinda Rao, Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam Vice-Chancellor V. Uma, and S.V. University Registrar Bhupathi Naidu, SAAP Chairman Ravi Naidu unveiled jerseys representing 26 districts for the event. State IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh will present prize money totalling ₹91.90 lakh to the winners on August 29.
