Alva’s to soon get Deemed-to-be-University status: Pralhad Joshi

Union Minister for Education Pralhad Joshi on Monday said the Alva’s Education Foundation in Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada, will get the status of Deemed-to-be-University in about a month.

He was speaking after inaugurating Alva’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (Alva’s Medical College) at Mijar near Moodbidri. He said: “People of Mumbai-Karnataka turn up in Dharmasthala for spirituality and in Alva’s for education. Our ethos say earn with a hundred hands and give with a thousand hands. M. Mohan Alva is an example of that.”

He described Alva’s as an organisation that caters to the underprivileged. “The world is getting older. But, India is a country of young people. There is increasing trust in Indian doctors and nurses. May Dakshina Kannada become the medical hub of the world,” he said.
