Alva’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, at Mijar in Moodbidri, which will be inaugurated on Monday, has reserved 54 seats for the Tulu-speaking minority community, according to M. Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri.

Addressing presspersons in Moodbidri on Saturday he said that the college has received approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC) to admit 150 students for the MBBS course for 2026–27 academic year.

“Reserving 54 seats for the Tulu-speaking minority community marks a significant step in expanding opportunities for medical education for Tulu-speaking students,” he said.

Dr. Alva said that the inauguration ceremony will be held at Shobha Mohan Alva Campus in Mijar.
