State project director of Samagra Shiksha has urged all private management schools, residential colleges and junior colleges in Telangana to participate in the Swachh Evam Haritha Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2026-27 initiative.

A nationwide school assessment framework launched by the Ministry of Education, SHVR aims at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, environmental sustainability, and a healthy learning atmosphere in all educational institutions.

Under the programme, schools are required to sign up and login to the portal, https: //shvr. education.gov.in/, and fill in the self-assessment form. The rating parameters include sub-categories such as water, toilet, handwashing with soap, operation and maintenance, behaviour change and capacity building, and mission life activities, with a total score of 125 marks.

The SHVR assessment is a mandatory programme for all schools having a valid UDISE+ code.
