Alarm as fire ravages section of Aberdare Forest
A massive fire has been burning in Kenya's Aberdare Forest for three days, threatening critical water catchment areas. Local officials are calling for urgent intervention from the national government and military to contain the blaze.

Nyandarua County Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) Warden Paul Wambugu says the responders are fighting the inferno which started three days ago.
Nyandarua County Environment CEC Wachira Mugo described the fire as huge at the west part of the forest.
"The fire is fast approaching catchment areas supplying water to Lake Ol Bolosatt and Ol Kalou town," said Mr Mugo.
