Alan Carr holds back tears on special night at National Television Awards
Comedian Alan Carr received a Special Recognition award at the 31st National Television Awards following his successful appearance on The Celebrity Traitors. The event also saw wins for Sir David Attenborough and the show itself.

The London audience had just been treated to a Traitors-themed musical performance in his honour, which included fellow cast member Paloma Faith emerging from a coffin, when he was given the surprise award.
Speaking to BBC News on the red carpet before the ceremony, Carr had played down his chances of winning for his semi-autobiographical comedy Changing Ends.
He joked: "Comedy is so subjective... Mrs Brown's Boys wins every year, why am I even here?"
