Al-Aqsa Flood Operation Made Palestinian Cause World’s Foremost Issue: Official

An Iranian official, Ramazan Sharif, described the October 7 'Al-Aqsa Flood' operation as a turning point that restored global focus to the Palestinian cause. He claimed the operation challenged the perceived invincibility of the Zionist regime.
Why it matters
The statement reflects the official Iranian perspective on the ongoing Middle East conflict and the strategic significance of the October 7 attacks.
The Head of the Central Headquarters for Quds and the Intifada said the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, carried out by Palestinian resistance forces on October 7, 2023, made the cause of Palestine the world’s foremost issue.
Describing Operation Al-Aqsa Flood as a turning point in the Palestinian people's struggle, Ramazan Sharif stated that this operation shattered the myth of the Zionist regime’s presumed invincibility and once again transformed the Palestinian cause—which the Zionists had sought to consign to oblivion—into the world's foremost issue.
He made the remarks at a press conference held in Tehran on Tuesday to mark the third anniversary of the operation.
“Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was a military operation. While the Palestinian people’s struggle against the Zionist regime has persisted for over seven decades, this operation was conceived and executed at a juncture when the Zionists were claiming that the Palestinian issue was a closed chapter,” he stated.
