Ajay Singh flags off Prajaseva programme at Manvi
Minister Ajay Singh launched the 'Prajaseva' initiative in Raichur, a state-wide program designed to bring government services and grievance resolution directly to citizens. The program will operate weekly, with local officials and ministers attending to public needs.
Why it matters
This initiative represents a shift toward decentralized governance and direct public engagement in state administration.
Minor Irrigation, Science, and Technology Minister Ajay Singh, who is also the Raichur district in-charge Minister, flagged off the State government’s ambitious ‘Prajaseva’ initiative at the Bashumiya Sahukar Government First Grade College in Manvi town, Raichur district on Saturday.
The flagship outreach drive — aimed at delivering governance directly to citizens’ doorsteps and resolving public grievances — was launched State-wide by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Singh emphasised that the initiative has been designed to address local problems directly and eradicate the region of its “backward” label.
Unlike one-time events, the Prajaseva program will be conducted every Saturday across the district. Local MLAs, the Deputy Commissioner, and key administrative officers will be present at these sessions.
