Airlines are once again allowed to increase the cost of plane tickets, as the government approved another round of increases in the passenger fuel surcharge for November.
In an advisory, the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) said it is raising the fuel surcharge to Level 17 for the booking period from Nov. 1 to 15, from the current Level 16.
This marks a quick reversion of the surcharge rate to Level 17, the same level that CAB allowed airlines to impose just a month ago.
At Level 17, airlines may impose a surcharge of ₱559 to ₱1,635 on passengers flying on domestic routes and between ₱1,846.10 and ₱13,726.58 on those traveling on international routes.
