Air travel from Hyderabad is set to get slightly cheaper, with the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) cutting the user development fee (UDF) for departing domestic passengers at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) from ₹750 to ₹515, effective September 1.

AERA issued its regular Tariff Order for the Hyderabad airport’s fourth control period, covering September 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031, on Monday. For the fourth control period, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) had proposed an Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) of ₹27,851 crore (or ₹20,025 crore in present value terms), under its Multi-Year Tariff Proposal. After examining the regulatory building blocks, including capital expenditure, operations and maintenance costs, rate of return and non-aeronautical revenues, AERA rationalised the proposal.
