Air quality in parts of Singapore in unhealthy range

Air quality in Singapore has reached unhealthy levels due to transboundary haze caused by hotspots in Sumatra and Kalimantan. The National Environment Agency warns that the situation is likely to remain escalated in the southern ASEAN region.
Why it matters
Transboundary haze is a recurring environmental and public health crisis in Southeast Asia that impacts millions of people and regional economic activity.
The 1-hour PM2.5 reading in the west jumped into the "high" range at 4pm and dipped back into the elevated range an hour later.
