The Congress party is preparing for upcoming Assembly elections by appointing new district committee presidents in Yadgir. AICC observers are scheduled to visit the district to meet with party workers and strengthen grassroots organization.
Why it matters
Internal party restructuring is a key indicator of political strategy and electoral readiness in regional Indian politics.
In a bid to prepare well in advance for the next Assembly election, new presidents would be appointed for all district Congress committees as part of ‘Sanghatan Srujan Abhiyan’, said Basareddy Malipatil Anapur, president of the Yadgir district unit of the Congress.
Addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Monday (July 27), he said that Jetti Kusuma Kumar, AICC Observer for Yadgir district, apart from MLCs and KPCC Observers Shanagouda Patil Bayyapur and Raj Gopal Reddy, would be camping in the district from July 30 to August 4. They would hold a series of meetings at the block level to discuss with party workers about strengthening the party from the ground level.
