AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026), urged the TVK-led Tamil Nadu government to drop the arrest proceedings against DMK leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Udhayanidhi Stalin, ahead of the Assembly session which is scheduled to commence on August 5 .
“The post of the Leader of the Opposition is a key position in the Assembly. It is condemnable that this government intends to have the session without the person holding that post,” he charged.
