AI sings Russia's war story: Kremlin's unexpected soundtrack of Ukraine's conflict
Research by the Ukrainian nonprofit Terrecon has identified nearly 1,000 AI-generated songs on major streaming platforms that promote pro-Russian narratives regarding the war in Ukraine. These tracks, created using tools like Suno and Udio, often feature propaganda, ethnic slurs, and themes praising Russian military efforts.

Artificial intelligence is being used to produce a growing number of songs about the Russia-Ukraine war, with some of the music presenting Russia's invasion in a favourable light and criticising Ukraine.Hundreds of such tracks have appeared on major music streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Deezer, according to research by Terrecon, a Ukrainian nonprofit organisation focused on threat intelligence.The songs cover a wide range of musical styles, from ballads to heavy metal.
