Researchers at Israel's Weizmann Institute of Science developed the AI "brain decoder," which uses high-resolution functional magnetic resonance imaging, or fMRI, to recreate images viewed by a person with greater precision than previous systems, MIT Technology Review reported.

Michal Irani, who developed the technology with her colleagues, said earlier brain-decoding models could identify the general subject someone was viewing but often failed to reproduce important details.
