AI can write. It cannot decide what is worth saying.

This article discusses how the focus on AI-generated content is shifting from mere production volume to the quality and substance required for AI systems to deem it valuable. It highlights that AI now reads and judges content, impacting brand visibility, and emphasizes the need for human creativity to provide unique insights, research, and opinion that AI cannot replicate.
Why it matters
This shift fundamentally changes content strategy and marketing, forcing businesses to prioritize unique, high-quality content to gain visibility in an AI-driven information landscape, rather than just mass-producing generic material.

Last month I ran a working session with the marketing team of one of India's largest technology services companies. The question that took over the room was not how to produce more content with AI. It was why the content they already had was invisible to it.
That inversion sums up where we are. For two years, the conversation about AI-generated content has been about supply: faster drafts, cheaper production, more output per marketer. The harder problem has quietly moved to the other side. AI is no longer just writing content. It is reading it, judging it, and deciding which brands get mentioned when a buyer asks a question.
