Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday said the AHINDA (Kannada acronym for Minorities, Backward Classes and Dalits) bloc was central to the ideology of the Congress.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Shivakumar said, “AHINDA is ours. Congress ideology is AHINDA ideology. The Congress will continue to uphold its ideology towards the backward classes. Under the guidance of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad and other Ministers are working together.”

Prominent personality of AHINDA and Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi, who was not invited to the convention organised by the Karnataka State Backward Castes Federation, said AHINDA was not the personal property of anyone.
