Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand has directed police officers across the State to put in place a comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, with special emphasis on electrical safety, traffic management, crowd control and security along immersion routes.
He said effective coordination among the police, other government departments, Ganesh Utsav organisers and other stakeholders would be crucial to ensuring that the festivities from September 14 to 25, including the immersion, are conducted peacefully.
Addressing senior police officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) through a video conference, Mr. Anand directed the police to remain vigilant from the setting up of pandals until the completion of the immersion process.
