AgriGold victims’ association demands swift action on special court and asset recovery

The AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association on Sunday (July 12, 2026) urged the State government to expedite compensation for thousands of AgriGold depositors. They called for the proposed special court to be operational before the end of July, the establishment of a dedicated CID investigation team, and the attachment of all alleged benami properties belonging to the company’s management.
Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada, association honorary president and CPI national executive member Muppalla Nageswara Rao and deputy general secretary B.V. Chandrasekhar welcomed the government’s decision to constitute a Cabinet subcommittee and a special court to resolve the long-pending AgriGold issue.
Mr. Nageswara Rao said the move fulfilled an assurance given by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a hunger strike held in March and welcomed the government’s commitment to settle depositors’ claims within six months.
