AgriGold victims asked to produce original bonds for verification

The Andhra Pradesh CID has initiated a verification process for AgriGold depositors, requiring them to present original bonds and supporting documentation at designated district centers. This move follows a government decision to facilitate relief for victims of the AgriGold financial scandal.
Why it matters
This process is a critical step toward providing financial restitution to thousands of victims affected by the long-standing AgriGold investment fraud case.
The Andhra Pradesh CID has appealed to AgriGold depositors, victims, nominees, legal heirs and agents to bring their original bonds and receipts for verification at designated centres, and clarified that the original documents will only be examined and need not be surrendered.
The appeal on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) follows the recent decision of the five-member Group of Ministers constituted by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to review issues concerning AgriGold depositors and facilitate relief to victims. Special teams are being constituted at designated locations to verify and register original AgriGold bonds and receipts.
Living depositors have been asked to produce the original bond, signed colour photocopy, Aadhaar, PAN, bank passbook, latest photograph and mobile numbers, besides agent details if available. Nominees of deceased depositors must submit the bond, death certificate, identity documents, family certificate, bank details and photograph.
