Africa World Airlines unveils first Embraer E190 in Ghana

--> Africa World Airlines unveiled its first Embraer E190 aircraft at Accra’s international airport in Ghana. The aircraft is the first of 10 planes with which the carrier plans to expand its fleet to strengthen air connectivity in Ghana and West Africa, MyJoyOnline reports .

The new Embraer E190 seats 102 passengers, with 14 premium economy seats and 88 economy seats. AWA Chief Executive Officer Luolin Cui said the aircraft opens a new stage for the company and is expected to support the expansion of its regional operations.

According to Cui, 97% of the airline’s employees are Ghanaian citizens. Since beginning operations in 2012, AWA has carried more than 5 million passengers. The aircraft was unveiled as the carrier marks 14 years of operations and after it resumed the Accra–Abidjan route in July.
