AFL Finals: Fremantle fans rage at price gouging airlines as Melbourne flight costs soar

Fremantle fans have been left to count the cost of victory with flight costs to Melbourne soaring to exorbitant levels despite promises from airlines. The Dockers earned entry into just their second grand final after a thrilling 12-point win over Sydney, with Freo fans booking tickets as soon as the final siren sounded. However, despite the allocation of additional flights, affordable seats were nowhere to be found, with vice president of Fremantle supporter group Harbour Masters Clive Jones seeing a $500 price jump in the space of a minute. “The final siren went, and I jumped online to Virgin; there was the flight I went to hit the pay now button, and it popped up saying these flights have been cancelled so try again,” Mr Jones told The West Australian.
