‘Affluent’ ganja-peddlers arrested by Coimbatore city police, three cars seized
Coimbatore city police arrested three individuals for peddling ganja to students and IT employees. Authorities seized vehicles and announced plans to freeze the suspects' bank accounts as part of a crackdown on narcotics.

Three ganja-peddlers operating with three cars and a high-end motorcycle were arrested on Saturday (July 25) by a team of the Coimbatore city police for allegedly supplying the contraband to IT employees, students and labourers in Saravanampatti-Kalapatti belt.
The team, attached to the Prohibition Enforcement Wing, also recovered 4 kg ganja from Gowtham (25) of Ganapathy, Rahul Kumar (25) of Avaramapalayam, and Dinesh Kumar (26) of kurumpampalayam, police said. The accused were booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police seized the vehicles.
