AfCFTA Secretary to Headline PMI Global Summit in Cape Town

African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) secretary-general Wamkele Mene will headline the PMI Global Summit Series Cape Town, set for September 14–15 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
The summit, hosted by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Sub-Saharan Africa, will bring together leaders from government, development finance, technology, energy and infrastructure sectors under the theme ‘Africa Delivers M.O.R.E. Together.’
Mene’s participation is expected to add weight to the summit’s focus on implementation, with organisers positioning AfCFTA as one of the continent’s most significant projects requiring effective delivery.
“Few initiatives embody the idea of Africa delivering together more powerfully than AfCFTA,” PMI said in a statement.
The organisation said the continental free trade pact has the potential to transform how African economies trade by creating a more integrated market.
