Surendrapal, Medical Director and Chief Vitreoretinal Surgeon, explained that the Hydrus Microstent was a tiny implant designed to improve the eye’s natural aqueous humour drainage pathway.
By enhancing the natural outflow of fluid from the eye, the procedure helps lower intraocular pressure and provides better long-term pressure control, he added.
K. Kamal Babu, Chief Operating Officer, said the key advantages of the procedure was Minimally invasive procedure was its shorter surgical duration, high safety profile, faster recovery, effective long-term IOP management and potential reduction in dependence on glaucoma eye drops.
