Adimaly mudslide of 2025: 14 more families get ₹10-lakh compensation from Keralam govt.

The Keralam government has sanctioned ₹10 lakh each as compensation for families affected by the Adimaly mudslide. According to officials, the latest financial assistance will cover an additional 14 families.
An order issued by the Idukki District Collector stated that the district administration had initially submitted a report recommending 18 families for compensation. However, a subsequent inspection revealed that four of the 18 families owned land under the jurisdiction of the Mannamkandam village office, leading to their exclusion from the beneficiary list.
The devastating mudslide occurred at Koompanpara along the Kochi–Dhanushkodi National Highway on the night of October 25, 2025. It claimed the life of Biju, a resident of Laksham Veedu Colony, and severely injured his wife, Sandhya. On October 28, 2025, doctors had to amputate Ms. Sandhya’s left leg due to the severity of her injuries.
