Act for lawyers’ protection, release of Nyaya Mithra dues sought
Advocates from the All India Lawyers’ Union held a protest in Vijayawada to demand better protection against attacks and the release of pending dues under the Nyaya Mithra scheme. They are urging the state government to enact specific legislation for lawyer safety.

Advocates allegiance to the All India Lawyers’ Union (AILU) staged a dharna on Saturday in Vijayawada demanding the government should release dues under the Nyaya Mithra s cheme, introduce an Act for the protection of advocates from attacks, and provide health cards to the eligible ones.
Addressing the gathering, AILU president Sunkara Rajendra Prasad said the government must support the junior lawyers and give stipend to those fulfilling the criteria, and expressed concern over the growing attacks on the members of the legal fraternity.
